BUFFALO COAL

The Contract is structured in such a way that is responsible for all elements underground and is paid for coal.

Buffalo Coal is a coal producer with two mines in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

The two mines, Magdalena and Aviemore, have substantial coal resources, however the Magdalena mine has been placed under care and maintenenace since 31 October 2018. 

Buffalo Coal is currently focusing on the production of anthracite coal from Aviemore only and supplies anthracite coal and calcine into both domestric and export markets.

Buffalo Coal is focused on extending the Aviemore life of mine by mining out as much of the current remaining reserves as possible, whilst putting in place a feasible plan to construct and commission its’ medium and long-term projects at Aviemore mine.

UNIVERSAL COAL

The Magdalena bituminous reserve for Buffalo Coal, all of which is washed and exported.

The operation is being run on an outsource model managed by an Universal Coal on-mine management team, with Stefanutti Stocks Mining Services supplying both the mining fleet and skill set to run Wolvenfontein pit, operating a fleet of 100t trucks, 85t and 120t excavators and supporting equipment. The dual circuit processing facility, a 350tph crushing and screening circuit plus the 320tph DMS washing plant is owned by Universal.

KANGRA COAL

At Kangra, mining two low seam sections. This coal is washed and exported. Perfect Solution International is utilising Eickhoff and Sandvik continuous miners. Perfect Solution International is responsible for all inbye and outbye mining services and is paid on coal delivered to the stockpile.
